The FOR21 project partners organized and participated in a pre-conference master class on April 19, 2023, as part of the VI Central Asia International Scientific and Practical Conference on Medical Education “Education of the Future: Wind of Change” held in Karaganda, Kazakhstan.

The master class, held in Russian, focused on the integration of flipped classroom methodology and patient-centered approach to learning, and how it can improve doctor-to-patient communication. An incredible lineup of speakers, including Anastassia Rodina-Theocharaki & Eleni Dafli from project coordinator AUTH, Fatima Bagiyarova and Sanam Madaliyeva from KazNMU, and Zarina from SSMU.

The event scope was threefold: to share knowledge with colleagues interested in doctors communication training, disseminate successful FOR21 project results and establish new collaborations with other HEIs. Master class started with the Virtual Patient session with KMU students open for the public through online streaming. Topics covered included creating and adapting virtual patient videos, qualitative analysis of student feedback, and teaching patient-centered communication.
